일제강점기 대중가요의 갈래 중 하나였던 ‘경성 음악’은
1920~40년대 미국의 스윙 재즈와 깊은 리듬적 유사성을 지닌 장르로,
초기 한국 재즈의 뿌리라 할 수 있습니다. 1950년대 미8군 위문공연단을 통해 한국 재즈는 일시적으로 번성했으나,
당시 녹음 인프라 부재와 70~80년대 군사정권의 검열로 인해
그 문화적 맥락은 오랜 시간 역사 속에 묻혀왔습니다. The Bliss는 그 잊힌 사운드를 다시 호출합니다.
1950년대 미국 헐리우드에서 활약한 한국 최초의 여성 재즈 보컬 트리오, 김시스터즈를 모티브로 삼아
딕시랜드, 세컨라인, 스윙 재즈를 현대적으로 재구성한 무대를 선보입니다. 온 가족이 즐기는 재밌고 신나는 재즈의 여행! 과거와 현재, 전통과 혁신이 만나는 음악의 지점에서
한국 재즈의 정체성과 미학을 다시 써 내려갑니다.

One of the major genres of popular music during the Japanese colonial period, “Gyeongseong Music,” shared a deep rhythmic resemblance to American swing jazz of the 1920s to 1940s and can be considered the root of early Korean jazz. In the 1950s, Korean jazz briefly flourished through performances for the U.S. Eighth Army entertainment tours. However, due to the lack of recording infrastructure at the time and the strict censorship under military regimes in the 1970s and 1980s, much of its cultural context remained buried in history. The Bliss is here to revive those forgotten sounds.

Inspired by the Kim Sisters, Korea's first female jazz vocal trio who made their mark in 1950s Hollywood, The Bliss reinterprets Dixieland, Second Line, and Swing Jazz with a modern twist. A joyful, exciting jazz journey for the whole family! At the crossroads of past and present, tradition and innovation, The Bliss continues to redefine the identity and aesthetics of Korean jazz.
